My first term in the New York State Assembly has been a time of accomplishments, which include the passage of several government reform initiatives. I am looking toward the next session with new ideas for ways to improve the quality of life for the constituents of the 95th Assembly District, continuing to advance reform and lowering property taxes. While in Albany, my mission has been to put Rockland first, a goal I share with my colleagues in the State delegation. We're a small county that is all too often ignored. Our delegation has been an effective team, and we have made great strides. And there's lots more to be done. Since taking office I have met with thousands of constituents: nearly every senior group in the district, police officers, fire fighters, students, teachers, PTAs, cultural organizations, environmental groups, congregations, concerned tax payer groups, residents with concerns about specific community projects to name a few. It's so gratifying to be able to respond by creating legislation or finding funding to help promote the many worthy programs these groups sponsor, or assisting residents with personal problems. Additionally, I am proud to have brought funding to our schools, daycare centers, senior centers, RCC, the Youth Bureau, our regional Department of Environmental Protection, Americorps, poverty fighting organizations, youth programs, health care facilities and the cultural organizations that enrich all of our lives in Rockland.
