Description

Glass is used extensively as a curtainwall cladding material because of its transparency and ability to provide daylight and view. Solar gain in such applications can present challenges with respect to energy performance, thermal and visual comfort, and represent important design considerations in the development of an appropriate curtainwall facade.

Our global supply chain is a significant corporate asset that we provide to our clients, who receive the benefit of the most competitive possible cost independent of the fluctuations of local market conditions. Global economies, currencies and markets are shifting faster and more dramatically than ever before. In order for domestic firms to provide optimum solutions to their client’s needs, it is mandatory that they be able to procure materials and services from a global market providing the best combination of quality, lead-time and cost.

Curtainwall fabrication and assembly is a critically important part of the project development process. Enclos Corp maintains dedicated manufacturing operations in key geographic locations capable of providing fabrication services for the most complex designs and the most challenging project schedules. Our facilities incorporate state-of-the-art equipment and processes for curtainwall unit fabrication and assembly. In addition, to provide adequate capacity for the fluctuating demands typical of the building marketplace, we have developed a network of outside fabrication sources.

Both buildings make extensive use of stone cladding, which serves to highlight the prominent glass facades. The Enclos team has worked extensively with award-winning Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, and was called upon again to provide a solution to the geometrically complex curtainwall requirements of the Carnival Center. The spectacular full height lobby areas of each building face the public with a grand expanse of glass facade. The curtainwall system is designed to attach to a long-span exposed steel truss system . Smaller articulated facades define lobbies to the smaller venues.

Enclos was able to provide value to the developer and build team through the use of its global supply chain . The firm has invested heavily through the years in developing and qualifying a network of vendor-partners that work to a demanding set of quality systems and performance criteria put in place by Enclos. The result has been a significant increase in capacity and the consistent delivery of top quality product at optimum economy. In this project, extruded aluminum framing components were fabricated in Thailand and shipped to an Enclos assembly plant in Southern California.
