Description

The San Diego Community Power Project (SDCPP) is ENPEX's 750 megawatt combined-cycle natural gas fired power plant project that has been in development since 2000. The planned location of the SDCPP is on MCAS Miramar property near the SDG&E Sycamore Canyon Substation. The SDCPP will utilize the latest air emission control technology resulting in far less air pollution than San Diego's older power plants. It has been designed to conform to all regulatory environmental standards and is capable of producing electric power at far lower costs than San Diego's existing plants due to the high efficiency of modern combined cycle technology. It is ENPEX's goal that the SDCPP will provide the San Diego region with the most efficient, reliable and reasonably priced local source of electric power possible. The SDCPP can be an important new resource meeting the region's growing requirement for new power generation over the next 20 years.
