Environmental Liability

When buying or selling property or preparing for a site development, a thorough environmental site assessment (ESA) and/or compliance audit is essential for uncovering potential financial and environmental liabilities. ELM has established a strong reputation for the accuracy, timeliness, and thoroughness of our reports. While many sites are found to be unaffected, when we do find signs of a problem we have the scientific expertise and engineering experience to assess the significance of that problem. We completed a modified ESA (including the installation of temporary monitoring wells, groundwater sampling and lead-based paint and asbestos surveys) within three weeks from notice to proceed. The work was completed in accordance with ASTM 1527 and 1528 protocols. Our screening questionnaire and site checklist were adopted by our client and became the model for other consultants to follow. Additionally, we provided guidance for appropriate analytical methods for our client's 13-state service area.
