Our expertise is in close tolerance, single-lumen extruded tubing for the medical device industry. We extrude most all thermoplastics, including but not limited to, Polyurethanes, Polypropylene, Hytrel, PET., PEN., Nylon, HDPE, LDPE, etc. EPIC Extrusion has taken the industry standard of utilizing a laser micrometer to maintain the outside diameter one step further by using the Zumbach Ultrasonic UMAC CI Wall Thickness Control System. This equipment, allows our technicians to monitor and control the inside diameter, the outside diameter as well as wall thickness and ovality of the tubing It also allows our technicians to make any changes, if necessary, in real time. EPIC Extrusion utilizes the Mettler Coulometer and Drying Oven to ensure that the resin manufacturer’s guidelines for moisture content are met and maintained throughout the extrusion process. We feel that this is not only the first step in the processing of thermoplastic polymers, but the most important step. EPIC Extrusion documents these results for traceability.
