Description
This company captivates the senses with visual imagery, rope swinging, high-flying lifts, haunting gestures and baroque melodies. As choreographer and dancer, Essner has had many influences in the course of her training - including the Merce Cunningham Foundation, Alonzo King, Margaret Jenkins and Joe Goode. Recently relocated to New York from San Francisco in the fall of October 2000. Erica Essner Performance CoOp enjoyed 10 years of performing, teaching and touring in the Bay Area. The new company has had a very productive first year in New York, participating in several prominent showcases and self-producing. Some of the venues include: DTW's Fresh Tracks 2002, the American Dance Guild, Dancenow Downtown Festival 2001, D.u.m.b.o Art Under the bridge Dance Festival, and University Settlement. EEPC will continue to perform in the Bay Area as a visiting company.
