Defective returns require return merchandise authorization (RMA) number. PRODUCT CONDITION INFORMATION eritech.com finds and sells products from a wide variety of sources, which come to us in various condions. Many customers appreciate the deep discounts associated with refurbished and open box items - PLEASE BE AWARE THAT MANY OF OUR PRODUCTS ARE NOT BRAND NEW FACTORY SEALED. As the buyer you must read the Condition column and Product Description. Here is a detailed description of the terms used to describe the product condition: Factory Refurbished products are returned items from retailers or customers to the manufacturer for different reasons (defective, exchange, open box). The units are inspected by the manufacturer to ensure that they meet the same quality standards as new products, and include all factory manuals and software (although some manufacturer do not include recovery CDs.) They operate as any other "new" product, although at times these units might have minor blemishes or scratches. Factory Refurbished products come with original manufacturer warranties, are fully tested by the manufacturer, and are SEALED in manufacturer boxes. If you receive a Factory Refurbished unit and it is defective, not working or missing a part, you can contact the manufacturer directly for warranty repair or contact us to get an RMA# to return for repair only. As the unit will then be opened, we can only repair the same unit and send it back to you - we do not do cross-ship or replace Factory Refurbished with another unit. eritech.com does not pay for shipping defective units back to us, but once the warranty service is completed (usually about 2 weeks after receipt of the unit) we will return the item UPS ground to you at our expense. Refurbished products are from 3rd party sources (retailers, wholesalers) that we have thoroughly tested, including an extensive examination of all hardware components and a complete diagnostic evaluation. This assures the quality and allows us to offer warranties on our refurbished products. Refurbished items can have minor scratches or regular wear and tear, and may come with or without manuals or recovery CDs (please refer to description column for more). New products have never been used and come in sealed manufacturer boxes, including all manuals and accessories. New Open Box refers to products in original factory boxes that have opened but never used. In some cases they have been removed to show customer, or set up for store demostration purposes only, and they may have very minor surface scratches. They come with full new factory warrtanties.
