Your oral health is important to your overall health —poor oral health not only affects your teeth and gums, but can increase your risk for heart disease, diabetes and pre-term birth. It’s important to receive regular dental check-ups every 6 months. At Esperanza’s Dental Clinic , located on the 7 th floor of our Kensington site, we provide a full range of general dentistry services for adults and children in a comfortable, state-of-the-art facility. Diagnostic and preventive services include general exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants and x-rays.

Esperanza Health Center’s mission is to provide affordable, quality, bilingual primary health care and support services to our patients in Jesus’ name, and to promote the health of the North Philadelphia community we serve. All people in need of health care services are welcome at Esperanza Health Center. In addition to primary care, our wholistic services address patients’ spiritual, psychological, and social health needs, and are provided without regard to an individual’s ability to pay. For those with diabetes or those at risk of developing the disease, Esperanza takes a comprehensive, team based approach to provide specialized care for each patient. We provide intensive diabetes management by pairing Esperanza’s dietitian, who is certified in diabetes care, with each patient’s personal clinician during “Diabetes Days.” In addition, patients with diabetes are encouraged to participate in a series of diabetes classes, which are also available in Spanish.

Dental Care for Kids at Esperanza : We provide dental care for children of all ages —early examination and preventive care will protect your child’s smile both now and in the future! Childhood cavities are a chronic disease, affecting your child’s well-being and overall health. You can bring your child for an initial exam when his/her first tooth erupts or no later than his/her first birthday, and then every six months afterwards.

This month, Esperanza Health Center received recognition as a Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), one of the nation’s leading organizations dedicated to improving health care quality. All three of Esperanza’s sites — Kensington, Hunting Park and Fifth Street — received recognition as a Level 3 PCMH, the highest level. This recognition reflects Esperanza’s continued commitment to providing high-quality patient care and health services to our North Philadelphia community.
