Description

Esto is located in Mamaroneck, New York, a village about 20 miles northeast of New York City on the north shore of the Long Island Sound. The office is in a building that was originally a stable, later an icehouse and then a sail loft. The building was renovated about 30 years ago for offices, archives, studio space and the production facility. Within the last couple of years, the lab spaces were re-renovated to create a large digital work area and to provide more storage space as well.Erica Stoller, the director of Esto, works with a small, efficient staff to manage the archive, handle research requests and arrange photography assignments for the collaborating architectural photographers: Peter Aaron, Jeff Goldberg, Peter Mauss, Jock Pottle, David Sundberg, Jeffrey Totaro and Albert Vecerka.Sara Lepanto coordinates new assignments with clients and photographers. Susan Herpel, herself a photographer, deals with stock contributors and handles assignment and stock submissions. Christine Cordazzo is the primary researcher and arranges licensing. David La Spina handles the ever-expanding digital library. Amanda Jinks, as the production coordinator, interfaces film and digital material. Justin Stewart is cataloguing and preserving the Ezra Stoller archive. Ellen Oster helps with everything. Morunda Moore and Margaret Griffith work on bookkeeping. Chris Gray (of C S Gray Studio) is a close colleague who prepares files to pre-press standards from both scanned film and digital capture images.
