Founded by our member churches through out Clay County, Eventide has provided the Moorhead (MN) and Clay County area the best in senior living for more than 50 years. As a recognized leader in senior services, Eventide continues to develop new services and living options designed around our customers’ needs. As a result, we continue to grow while constantly developing our existing senior living options. So, please take time to browse our site and learn more about how we truly believe it should be “Your Life, Your Way.”Eventide began as an idea in 1944. Emerging from an onion field in south Moorhead, Eventide received its first residents 51 years ago in June 1951. The brotherhood of the Moorhead Circuit of the Evangelical Lutheran Church purchased the property for $2,500 and built the original 3-story building for $95,000. Members and clergy of area churches provided early planning and momentum to serve Moorhead and its surrounding area. While some local families were able to cope with the demands of multiple generations in the same household, others needed relief as those demands grew more challenging. Eventide, which was then called "The Lutheran Home of the Moorhead Circuit," responded to the needs of these families by providing nursing services for 52 people.Since Eventide first broke ground 51 years ago, we have grown in scope, physical scale, and knowledge. Yet, our mission has remained true to its original purpose to provide holistic care for seniors and peace of mind for their families. In recent years, the mission has expanded to become a "continuum of care" model, which is based on the changing needs of our tenants and residents. Our offerings include independent, subsidized living, assisted living, and skilled nursing care. At the present time, Eventide is able to provide services for more than 450 people.Originally owned by 30 area churches, today Eventide has 24 Lutheran Member Churches located in and around Moorhead, Minnesota. Representatives of the churches make up our Board of Directors. Volunteering at Eventide, likewise, has a long, proud tradition of caring. Today, hundreds of volunteers of all ages and walks of life donate thousands of hours each year. Our full-time and part-time chaplains work together to provide a wide range of spiritual care. Worship services and Bible study opportunities are available on a weekly basis. Support groups for residents and family members create an atmosphere of spiritual refreshment.
