Founded in 1985, the company began as Eastway Aviation, a maintenance business focusing on the repair of piston and turbo-prop airplanes. Eastway President and founder Bob Sherry started the company as a young mechanic, with 1,000 square feet of rented hangar space at Long Island MacArthur Airport.
