The Principals at Excelsior Capital Partners have been involved in renewable and sustainable industries long before it became "fashionable". For over 20 years we have focused on bringing practical and profitable environmental solutions to all sectors of the market.
Based in North Carolina, Dakota is a specialist in the Environmental Industry. She has 20 years of experience both as an entrepreneur and as a senior executive for international corporations. Dakota's extensive knowledge of the Environmental Industry encompasses; consulting engineering, new technology development and integration, regulatory compliance as well as management oversight and financial structuring. Dakota founded and sold one of the largest privately held medical waste management companies in New York State. She has also consulted for a variety of large environmental companies throughout the United States and Canada where she analyzed and coordinated strategic mergers, acquisitions and the financing to complete these business transactions. These transactions ranged in size from 20 Million USD to 400 Million USD and included prominent companies such as Waste Management, Foss Environmental, Burlington Industries and Union Pacific.
Dakota has also been an active principal in the project development sector where she led developments for integrative sustainable power projects in Ecuador. Upon refocusing on the North American Market, she began working with regional developers assisting them in structuring transactions and providing access to relevant institutional capital markets. In 2004 Excelsior Capital was formed to provide integrative advisory services to the alternative energy and sustainable industry sectors. Dakota received her undergraduate education through the State University of NY at Buffalo and was one of the first participants in the integrative Masters Program for Environmental Policy sponsored by the Rachael Carson College within the university system.
Excelsior’s team of professionals each have had direct experience in taking an idea from a whimsical fancy to fully operational cash flow positive machine. Throughout our years in the renewable and sustainable sector we have worked with many creative intelligent hard working developers that are rather well versed in their respective fields, but don’t have the complete set of disciplines to bring their development to fruition. Unfortunately, having expertise in one specific sector does not always translate to grasping the complexity of taking an idea from concept and growing it into a vibrant and successful business.
