John Cleave: Dr. John B. Cleave has been designing and building large-scale multimedia simulations for companies like IBM, Andersen Consulting, Lucent, Nortel, and Harvard Business School Publishing. He has been training and supporting computer users for over 17 years, and for the last 13 years he has focused exclusively on simulation development. He has extensive experience across the gamut of simulation design and development – needs analysis, learning and interface design, programming, authoring, media production, quality control, and deployment.

Experience Builders was formed to tackle these challenges. John Cleave partnered with his brother, Scott, who has more than 20 years of experience in the business world and a graduate education from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management. John’s academic background matched perfectly with Scott’s business acumen. They were soon joined by Jeff Brandt, who managed the creative work in many of the simulations produced by Cognitive Arts, and the three began to reinvent simulation production methodology.
