We worked for a big agency with big clients. Won lots of awards. We were hot. Smokin hot! Then one day our agency lands this HUGE rush job from our biggest client. The kind of drop-everything-pull-out-all-the-stops job where there s no time for screwing around, not even time for the lunch hour Nintendo tourney in the break room. We decided to sub out some of the work. So we went looking for some sources for great advertising. First we called some free-lancers from the back of AdWeek. They all sucked. Let s face it, if they were any good they d be snapped up by an agency in two seconds. Next we tried calling those big guys out of New York and L.A. They had nice-sounding reels, but boy did they charge an arm and a leg. And most of them were not so keen on sharing creative control. So what did we do? Panic, first.
