Harrold’s Pharmacy, a third-generation family-run business located in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., was established by the Lefkowitz family nearly 70 years ago. To stay abreast of changing times and patients’ needs, owner Bruce Lefkowitz decided the timing was right to expand his current medical equipment offerings and the compounding laboratory where the pharmacy specializes in customized medicines for human and veterinary patients. The first step to turn his dream into reality was to purchase a nearby bakery, which had been vacant for more than two decades in a warehouse area west of downtown.

After its founding in December 2007, metal manufacturing company Mission Critical Solutions (MCS) provided cutting, bending and welding services primarily to defense contractors, but once the Bedford County, Pa., manufacturer began partnering with other organizations, business began to quickly expand. The company teamed with a fiberglass business to build structural framework for the shale and natural gas industry, and soon began working with seawall containers, telephone brackets and even mass transit.
