Mr. MacPherson's recent work at Nuveen Investments included co-development of the ELEMENTS ETN platform with Merrill Lynch, development and launch of the first exchange listed currency fund, and development and launch of other specialized debt and equity funds. He also led development efforts on the first managed commodity futures fund approved to be listed on a national securities exchange, currently pending final approval by the CFTC, and developed the Nuveen National Closed-End Fund indexes NMUNP and NMUNI (TR) with Amex.Prior to joining Nuveen, Mr. MacPherson worked at Merrill Lynch in the Convertible Sales and Trading, and Derivatives Marketing Groups, where he worked on the development of diverse products and strategies including ICONs (Investment Company Convertible Notes), tax advantaged DRD structures and DISCS (Divisional Investment Security Certificates). Mr. MacPherson received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with minor course study in Engineering and Economics. He completed additional graduate course studies in Finance at New York University.
