Company Profile In 1985, John H. Auersperg, along with his sons Johnny and Paul, created Fortune Footwear Inc. The company began by importing flip flops, slippers and casual footwear from Taiwan. This sourcing strategy eventually evolved to include dress shoes, with which the company enjoyed much success. In 1999, Fortune moved a portion of its production to China. By 2003, 80% of Fortune's products were sourced in China.
