Description

The Florida Instructional Materials Center for the Visually Impaired (FIMC-VI) is a statewide resource center designed to assist schools in obtaining specialized materials for students with visual impairments. Established in 1972 by the Florida Legislature, FIMC-VI operates under the Florida Department of Education, Bureau of Instructional Support and Community Services through a grant agreement with the School District of Hillsborough County. FIMC-VI serves students with visual impairments enrolled in Florida s public and private schools and teachers in those schools, both exceptional student educators and regular educators, who work with visually impaired students.
