Poplar Plaza is located in the geographical center of Memphis, Tennessee, and sits on Poplar Avenue, the main thoroughfare of the city. The center was constructed in 1948 and has remained a premier retail center for more than 60 years. Poplar Plaza is often considered the genesis of the outdoor strip mall in the southern region and, according to architectural historian Kenneth Jackson, was the first of its kind and size in the nation. As a result, it has become a Memphis landmark.

The Providence Biltmore is a full-service historic hotel built in 1922. The property is comprised of 292 guestrooms as well as 19,000 sq. ft. of function space. The property offers 18 meeting/banquet rooms and a rooftop grand ballroom which is home to more than 85 weddings per year and many notable events. The Spa at The Providence Biltmore, on the first floor, is a luxurious spa retreat perfect for destination spa visits, day-spa use, bridal services, or simply as an escape after a day of meetings.

As Chief Operating Officer, Rob brings twenty years of experience in institutional capital markets, acquisitions, and property operations to Finard Properties’ diverse portfolio of hospitality, retail, and office properties. He spearheads the development and execution of asset strategies across all property types and phases of the investment and development process. Additionally, Rob oversees the accounting, management, and leasing divisions of the company and acts as the company’s Chief Financial Officer.

Finard Properties traces its roots back to a small and humble venture founded in the 1950’s by Murray Finard, a man who left a successful career in the manufacturing business to help pioneer a new platform for retailing called “the shopping center”. Murray anchored his shopping centers with emerging discount department stores, and although this class of store is omnipresent today, they were a radical departure from then-traditional department store retailing. Operating for a number of years out of a converted bedroom in his home, he was joined by his son, Bill, in the early 1970’s.
