First Capitol Auction, Inc. first came to be in May of 1985 in a small warehouse in the city of Benicia, California. The City of Benicia was the location for the first capitol building for the state of California, hence, First Capitol Auction, Inc.. Eric Smith started the company and was soon joined by his partner, Brian McKissack. They immediately went about the business of auctioning with: construction equipment, vehicles and asset seizures for Bay Area cities, counties, municipalities, rental yards, and lending institutions. Through their diligence and hard work, they quickly outgrew the Benicia facility and moved to their 25-acre facility in Vallejo, California. First Capitol Auction, Inc. has been one of the fastest growing auction companies in Northern California. A great deal of their success can be attributed to their professional standing with government agencies, contractors and lending institutions. Their innovative marketing and advertising campaigns have been designed to enhance their clients as well as their company's image.
