Tom has over thirty years experience with Junior Achievement Inc., a major international non-profit organization. He has direct experience in managing a variety of funding campaigns, including annual, letter, personal gifts, teams, telemarketing, and special events.

With over thirty years experience working with top business executives, government officials, educators and civic and professional groups, Gerald has developed a unique ability to relate to, inspire and motivate volunteers to succeed in the task at hand. He sees this work as a way of utilizing his talents to assist others in meeting their capital needs for programs and facilities, benefiting future generations.

First Community Development (FCD) provides expertise and project management services for major fundraising campaigns of $1 Million or more to nonprofit organizations. FCD has distinguished itself from competitors by providing personalized service tailored to the individual needs of its clients and by offering innovative and effective approaches to fundraising initiatives.

FCD is led by Steve Dorough and Gerald Scott, whose combined 70 years of experience in fundraising provides a solid foundation for ensuring the success of every fundraising campaign FCD undertakes.

Gerald first joined First Community Development in 1999. He has over thirty years experience in managing annual and capital campaigns for such diverse groups as Junior Achievement, chambers of commerce, economic development foundations, Georgia Society of CPAs Educational Foundation and the American Shakespeare Center in Staunton, Virginia.
