First National Bank in Cameron

First National Bank in Cameron is a community bank. We serve the counties of Milam, Falls and Lee in Central Texas. First National Bank was one of the first banks in Texas to receive a National Bank charter on August 2, 1889. Prior to that time, a series of private banks served the area all of which became victims of different economic depressions. We were founded by local folks with local interests. Individuals such as John M. Hefley, John B. Mclane, B. L. Arnold, J. C. Reese and C. P. Dodge., planted the seeds, of $25,000 in capital, back in 1889, that resulted in a legacy of conservative, yet forward thinking management as well as the soundness that is reflected in the capital structure of the bank today.
