Cecilia Piazza earned a bachelor of arts in business with a concentration in human resources from St. Xavier University. She has over 20 years of combined management experience in the U.S and abroad. Cecilia was a key individual responsible for staff, training and development of new products for the largest employer in New Zealand; successfully completing their management graduate program and traveling extensively throughout the country. After returning to the U.S. she broadened her experience to include the nonprofit sector and insurance.

First Nonprofit is solely dedicated to serving the nonprofit community by facilitating their growth through innovate insurance and financial services for more than 30 years. We understand that today’s nonprofits must find ways to stretch their funding dollars to meet their service mission. We entered into the unemployment insurance field in 1994 after being directed by the Board of Directors of our affiliate company, First Nonprofit Insurance Company , to develop a product to help their nonprofit policyholders reduce the rising cost of unemployment taxes.

Several states require employers to post collateral with the state unemployment agency in order to reimburse directly. Our competitive rates make opting out of the state tax system a viable, cost saving option. If you choose to participate in one of our other unemployment programs, we provide these mandated bonds for you at no additional cost.

Above all else, stories should be uplifting. Nonprofits' missions are usually about providing opportunities or services in an area of need. More people will be encouraged to donate if a site shares stories about the organization's successes, not its struggles.
