Description

These types of loans are used for the purchase and/or development of new or existing businesses. All loans can be structured to meet the cash flow needs of your business. First State Bank uses the Small Business Administration (SBA) Guaranteed Loan Program for applicants not meeting traditional loan requirements. These loans can be used to assist those applicants who desire to purchase or start a new business.

First State Bank continues to serve the financial needs of the business, agricultural, professional and consumer populations of our trade area. As the bank motto states, “Big Enough to Serve, Small Enough to Care”, the stockholders, Board of Directors and employees of FSB are dedicated to helping our customers and in making a difference in the communities we serve.

First State Bank was founded in October, 1933, in Battle Creek, Iowa. The country was still reeling from the effects of the 1929 stock crash and the shattering depression, which followed. In 1933 Franklin D. Roosevelt stated in his Inaugural address, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” With this in the back of their minds, a group of people who had a great deal of courage and business foresight, decided to gamble on the future of Battle Creek and established a new banking firm, First State Bank.
