First Step was founded in 1979 as a community based organization to prevent juvenile delinquency and promote youth development in Northwest Baltimore County. Since opening our doors, we have greatly expanded our services and altered our service delivery system to reflect the times in which we live. We have experienced tremendous growth due in large part to the familial, societal and healthcare industry changes that have taken place in this country.We began with one site located at 8303 Liberty Road in Randallstown. In July of 2000, First Step merged with the Community Counseling and Resource Center in order to expand services. We now have four other program sites: 3525 Resource Drive in Randallstown, which houses the Northwest Area Program, 10400 Ridgland Road in Cockeysville which houses adolescent, adult and Youth Employment Training Programs, 100 Owings Court - Suite 8 in Reisterstown which also house adolescent and adult treatment services and 8310 Liberty Road in Randallstown which houses our Youth Employment Training Program. Through all of the changes we have made over the years, one thing has not changed - our reputation of caring for people every step of the way.
