Peace: For easing of tensions in and around India: -For resolution of the border dispute with China (see China – India Border Brawl ) Weather related problems: Because of severe weather due to a drought earlier in the year and flooding more recently, food production in India is down and food prices are up . Please pray for the poorest people who were already on the edge of starvation. Pray also for those Christian workers and other relief agencies who are trying to provide help. Orissa Refugees: Because of the persecution against Christians in the Indian state of Orissa that began in the fall of 2008, thousands of refugees fled their villages where their homes, businesses and churches were damaged and often destroyed. Most could not back to their villages because extremist Hindus threatened to harm them again unless they converted to Hinduism. Now a year later more than 4,000 of these Christians remain in refugee camps with no means for establishing homes for their families. Pray for these destitute brothers and sisters and for those who are working to assist them. Pray the Lord will provide a place for them to live where they can continue to raise their families and worship the Lord Jesus. Christian Workers: Pray that God would raise up workers to preach, teach, mentor, pray, love, nurture, give and go. “Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.’ “ (Matthew 9:37,38)
