Fitzgerald Insurance Agency was started in 1940 by Harold Fitzgerald. He first started as a State Farm agent, specializing in farm insurance. In 1945 State Farm stopped selling crop insurance and Harold had to find a different company. He became a General Agent for the Hartford Insurance Company. In 1960, James Fitzgerald came into the agency with his father. Still specializing in farm insurance, the agency grew. Throughout the early 70's they grew into one of the largest writers of crop insurance in the area. The Agency specialized in farm insurance, but wrote all lines of insurance. Home, Auto, Life and Health were, and still are, just part of the services offered. In 1982, the third Fitzgerald generation became part of Fitzgerald Insurance. Michael Fitzgerald started learning from the two experienced generations that came before him. Jim and Mike worked together for 25 years until Jim retired at the end of 2006. Jim is still owner of Fitzgerald Insurance Agency, Inc. and comes in when he is not relaxing in Wisconsin at his cabin in the woods. Mike was joined by his wife Gina in 2006 and the generations continue to carry on here at Fitzgerald Insurance. Their son, Joe, is the web-designer. Cousin Sarah Fitzgerald also works in the office. So if you call and ask for Mr. or Mrs. Fitzgerald, you had better be prepared with a first name, because they all will answer!
