We have been making in-tank pumps and filter systems for the metal- finishing industry for over 30 years. Our customers include jobshops, manufacturers and laboratories. Many Flo King products are available to ship to you in a day or two from our factory in central Florida, USA.

For practical purposes, here are some guidelines for selecting disposable filter cartridges to use with a Flo King in-tank pump: • 20 micron is a very popular size for most electroplating and associated metal-finishing solutions. • If the 20-micron cartridge is not fine enough to remove tiny particles from solution, the 10-micron cartridge is another common alternative. • In some cases, 5 or 1 micron is specified, but not nearly as often as the larger micron ratings. Cartridges with very low micron ratings are tightly spun and will reduce the flow rate and agitation of the pump.

Flo King systems are built to provide high flow rate and solution agitation-even without the aid of spargers. However, where piping is desired to agitate a more selective area of the tank or to agitate from the bottom up, for example, tapered Floductor nozzles are available. Use a pump with Floductors exclusively to agitate solution (as shown at left) or to filter, too. Important: Floductors do not increase the flow rate or agitation of the Flo King pump; rather, they redistribute the flow to the desired area of the tank. See Bulletin 23.
