Description
Flora was created in the 1960s, but the company's roots stretch back to the early part of the century in southern Germany. It was there that Dr. Otto Greither, the grandfather to Flora's Founder Thomas Greither, laid the foundations for a prominent health food manufacturer.In 1910, Dr. Greither was planning to open his own sanitorium, but was overcome by a severe illness. Instead of resigning himself to an operation by his attending physician, he followed the advise of a visiting nurse and successfully treated his condition with herbal infusions. He subsequently devoted his life to the discovery, production and distribution of natural health care products.In 1916, Dr. Greither founded Salus Haus ("Health House") which has since become one of the most highly respected herbal companies in the world.
