Whether you're a college president or a student, a faculty member, a college administrator, or a community partner, we are here to serve you! Because we believe that higher education can be the impetus to strong communities and quality civic involvement, we are committed to our three-pronged mission of promoting academically rigorous service-learning, civic engagement and student volunteerism. Our job at Florida Campus Compact is to unite these principles, by working hand in hand with students, community partners, faculty and administrators on our member campuses throughout the state. As Executive Director of Florida Campus Compact, it is my goal to help fortify our great state, and ultimately our nation, by connecting campuses and communities. Research shows that students involved in service-learning better comprehend academic course content and are more likely to vote and volunteer in their local community - hence, the notion of civic engagement. We must educate the next generation, not only for a career in the 21st century, but also for life as active members of a participatory democracy.
