CPR Classes: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS-HCP) For those without a current BLS card in the healthcare field needing training in adult, infant and child CPR with defibrillator and airway skill stations. A 4-5 hour class. BLS-HCP Recert For those with a current BLS card, a 2 hour review of the BLS materials, used to recertify healthcare professionals. Heartsaver/AED Training in Heartsaver CPR and the use of the automated external defibrillator (AED). This class is 3-4 hours long and provides the participant with plenty of hands on training. This training is appropriate for childcare worker and those working in adult care, church members, and corporate and public facilities using AED ’s. CPR for Friends & Family A 2 hour class designed for family members with new children, at risk family members, and those wishing to learn about basic emergency care. This is not a certification class, but provides the student with a course completion card. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) This 16 hour class prepares the paramedic, nurse, doctor or other healthcare worker to respond to advanced cardiac emergencies. It includes new information on the latest guidelines, scientific evidence, new drugs available, class recommendations, and appropriate responses to different cardiac arrythmias. We strongly suggest solid EKG skills training prior to this class. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) The Pediatric version of advanced airway management and cardiac arrest in pediatrics. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) This course is teaches the clinical provider resuscitation of infants. There are 9 lessons based on the providers level of responsibility. The course is based on the 2005 Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care of the Neonate. It emphasizes the importance of a team approach and early recognition of at risk babies and their immediate post delivery care. Please contact us for dates and pricing. Emergency Oxygen Administration This class prepares the student to administer oxygen in an emergency situation, when the student has access to oxygen at his place of work or business. The program focuses on administration of oxygen, rescue breathing and oxygen delivery devices. First Responder This 40 hour program introduces the participant to more advanced methods of emergency pre-hospital care. Students learn the principles of Responder safety, legal and ethical issues, anatomy and physiology, airway management, patient assessment, managing medical and traumatic emergencies, and fundamentals of the Incident Command System (ICS). This class is popular with police officers, lifeguards and volunteer firefighters. An excellent class for corporate emergency response teams as well. Bloodborne pathogens This program contains information that will help students understand what bloodborne pathogens are, how transmissions occur, and how risk of exposure can be reduced in their workplace. OSHA approved.
