Description
FOI offers the Tampa Bay community a complete line of orthopaedic services. Originally founded in 1989, FOI has grown from 11 orthopedists working in one office and one hospital, to 37 physicians working in 11 offices and 11 hospitals. Additionally, we have an affiliated surgery center next door to our main campus at Telecom Park.
Florida Orthopaedic Institute, founded in 1989, is Florida’s largest orthopedic group and provides expertise and treatment of orthopedic-related injuries and conditions, including adult reconstruction and arthritis, chiropractic services, foot and ankle, general orthopedics, hand and wrist, interventional spine, musculoskeletal oncology, orthopedic trauma, physical medicine and rehabilitation, physical and occupational therapy, sports medicine, shoulder and elbow, spine, and orthopedic urgent care, among others.
Allowing a full 180-degree range of motion on three different planes, the shoulder is a truly extraordinary joint. However, it is often true that the more a joint can do, the more can go wrong—and, consequently, the more specialized treatment it requires. Florida Orthopaedic Institute physicians have the experience to provide comprehensive care of the shoulder including non-surgical treatments, arthroscopic, and open surgeries.
After your appointment is scheduled, a representative from Florida Orthopaedic Institute will contact your insurance company to verify eligibility, benefit type, co-payment amount, deductibles, and referral requirements. This is done three to five days prior to your appointment. Although we make every effort to obtain authorization for your visit, many insurance companies require the patient to acquire an authorization from their primary care physician prior to the appointment.
As Florida's largest orthopedic group, our mission is to provide an internationally recognized level of orthopedic care, achieving exceptional outcomes through continuing research and specialty expertise.
