Description

FOM Systems, Inc., is a design consultancy specializing in printed circuit board design and embedded systems development, plus general electronics tinkering. We use Zuken Cadstar as our primary schematic entry and board layout tool, and AutoCAD as our primary mechanical drawing package. We also use Eagle and gEDA for small PCB designs. Design capabilities: PCB: up to 16 layers, feature sizes as small as 3mil trace/ 3mil space, blind and buried vias. Our designs have historically been in the area of low power portable hand held devices featuring very low power and high density double sided circuit board fabrication. System architectures are generally based around the Intel (now Marvell) X-scale processors and Freescale iMX series processors for larger designs and Microchip Technology parts for small designs. For programmable logic we most often use Altera and Xilinx CPLD's and FPGA's.
