Description

All meetings are open to parents of children with and without disabilities, educators, agency representatives and other community members. Voting members are appointed and approved by the school board of each district. The majority of the voting membership must be comprised of parents of children with disabilities enrolled in public or private schools within the SELPA. We welcome everyone concerned with the education of children with special needs to attend. The Foothill SELPA CAC meets quarterly. Each year a parent is elected as CAC Chair. The CAC Chair for 2006-2007 is Rebecca Granite-Johnson, a parent from the Burbank Unified School District that is serving her second term. The position of CAC chair is rotated through the three districts of the SELPA. CAC meetings are held in the home district of the chair. Meeting topics are selected by the CAC members. One of the Foothill SELPA's most highly requested events is the Family Transition Forum, which will again be sponsored by the Foothill SELPA. It will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2006, as an evening event, with a panel of agency representatives, as well as students, discussing successful transition and taking your questions. We will also have many agency and community organization representatives in our agency fair, beginning at 6 pm. As in the past, dinner will be provided and we will have great doorprizes. The event will be held at the Glendale Civic Auditorium. Please click here for registration materials...
