In 1922, Charles Foster, as sole proprietor, established his professional engineering company in Duluth, Minnesota. In 1959, Principals Howard Jacobs and Philip Johnson incorporated it under the present name of Foster, Jacobs & Johnson, Inc. Principals James Johnson and Charles Jacobs maintain an extensive archive of engineering drawings and documentation dating back over 75 years.
