Image Peter Franchot was first elected to the House of Delegates in 1986. He represents the 20th Legislative District, and is currently serving in his fifth term. He sits on the powerful Appropriations Committee, and is privileged to chair the Transportation and Environment Subcommittee. On his committee, Peter has supported and fought for funding for projects like the Takoma Park Community Center, Silver Theatre, and Strathmore Hall in Montgomery County, Port Discovery and the Ravens Stadium in Baltimore, and highway projects all across the state. For two decades, Peter Franchot has proudly served as a Democrat in the Maryland House of Delegates.
