Registered to practice architecture in California and Arizona, he has worked in all phases of architectural practice, from pre-design and programming to post-occupancy and forensic investigation. Frederic Knapp meets the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualification Standards for Architecture and Historic Architecture. In addition to preparing architectural documents for preservation projects conforming to the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Resources, he has prepared feasibility studies, historic structure reports, National Register nominations, federal historic preservation tax credit applications, and evaluations under review processes such as NEPA, CEQA, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, and local preservation ordinances.

Architecture Knapp Architects provides the full range of customary architectural services for design of new buildings, rehabilitation, renovations, and additions. We work in a variety of roles, including as prime architect, as a consultant on a team, and as a single source for design on smaller projects. We have a broad range of experience from small alterations to extensive adaptive reuse. We apply this knowledge creatively and in a variety of ways to advance preservation so that historic resources may adapt for new uses but continue to express their historical character and help maintain a contextual sense of place. Our services include the customary drawings and specifications, with CAD drafting for existing conditions and new design. We have extensive experience preparing building assessments and feasibility studies and providing project planning and post-occupancy services.
