Description

The law firm of Freedman & Lorry was founded on March 1, 1945 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by five attorneys. Starting as a general practice office, it soon undertook representation of longshoremen and merchant seaman, quickly earning a reputation as an aggressive and innovative champion of labor, both in employment relations and in compensation for the sick and injured. The firm is responsible for changing maritime law to benefit merchant seamen and longshoremen. Between the 1940’s and 1960’s, Freedman & Lorry had the greatest number of matters pending before the United States Supreme Court in the country.
