"We decided to put the emphasis on the athletes and allow them to produce, shoot and edit their own pieces," said Kristin Rust, public relations director for Aspen Skiing Company. "They have complete creative control. We wanted to give them the opportunity and a venue to express themselves. "We learn a lot about the athletes through their pieces," Rust said. "Information comes to light that you wouldn't read about in a magazine or see in the movies. They take us into their homes, introduce us to their lifestyles and families and often make us laugh." To further distinguish NEPSA from your ordinary film screening, an MC hosts the show and takes the audience through the entire night introducing each submission.
