Freight Shakers was established in October 1993 by Linda Mains and Twila Baker. At that time, Linda and Twila collectively had over 20 years of experience in the transportation industry, with Linda’s background being primarily in Operations while Twila’s was in Marketing. The company was initially located in 400 square feet of rented office space in Decatur, GA. Decatur was chosen as the midpoint between Linda’s home in Snellville and Twila’s home in Hampton, and for the first difficult year, it was just the two of them. The space was cramped, but it was the perfect place for two determined women to lay the foundation of the company they dreamed Freight Shakers could become, based on faith, honesty and integrity.In 1997, Freight Shakers purchased a 3,000 square foot building in Stockbridge, GA, where the corporate office is still located today. There are a lot more of us now, and each employee was carefully chosen to continue the level and quality of personal service that our customers have come to expect. While we’re still evolving and growing to meet our customers’ ever-changing needs, we’ve proven that success doesn’t require sacrificing one’s ideals.
