Established in 1974 by Herb Trotman and David Walbert as a teaching studio. In 1976 Ricky Stone came onboard as a new partner. At that time the Martin Guitar Company approached Fretted Instruments to carry their Guitar Line. Since then they have grown to be the 2nd largest Martin guitar dealer
