Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP litigation partner James Kitching has been elected to the Bar Council and will serve a three-year term through 2016. As a member of the Bar Council, Mr. Kitching will join other elected barristers in representing Inns, Circuits and other interest groups in England and Wales. Bar Council members contribute to debates on key issues facing the profession and engage with Parliament on a range of matters in the public interest. Mr. Kitching is a barrister and disputes resolution partner resident in Fried Frank's London office.

Legal Services NYC (LSNYC) will honor Fried Frank at its seventh annual Jazz for Justice gala, where the Firm will receive a Pro Bono Leadership award for being one of LSNYC's top pro bono partners in 2013. Through the efforts of Fried Frank and other firms, LSNYC has been able to help more than 70,500 disadvantaged New Yorkers secure the essentials of life: food, shelter and subsistence income. The gala will be held on Monday, June 23 at Gotham Hall and feature performances by renowned jazz artists.

Fried Frank is a recipient of the 2014 Beacon of Justice Award, an annual honor sponsored by The National Legal Aid and Defender Association (NLADA) that recognizes law firms which devote significant time and resources to improve the lives of low-income individuals.
