Description

Frysville Hybrid Poplars are a proven source for phytoremediation. Hybrid poplars have shown consistent positive degradation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in contaminated ground water. The use of phytodegradation, rhizodegradation and phytovolatization by hybrid poplars is much more economical in treating a contaminated area than expensive phytoextraction. Hybrid poplars cannot be girdled by planting them too deep therefore the roots of a hybrid poplar tree can be placed at the depth of the contaminated ground water.
