FSA Assist FSA Assist is part of Milliman USA , an international consulting firm based in Seattle. FSA Assist began in late 2001 in response to an increasing number of requests for independent, unbiased, third-party estimates of individual claim costs. Using Milliman’s proprietary actuarial cost models that are updated annually with over $1 million of research and data, FSA Assist was launched in January 2002 to meet this need in a broader market. As health costs continue to rise and participants are asked to assume greater risks in the form of deductibles, copays, and monthly contributions, the demand for flexible spending accounts has grown. FSA Assist is poised to support this trend, giving employees the information they need to make better decisions. Various versions have been released leading up to the current system that is delivered via the Internet under a web-service architecture. FSA Assist is headquartered in the Omaha office of Milliman USA under the direction of Ron Cornwell ( bio ). Ron is a fully-credentialled actuary and senior benefits consultant with considerable experience developing large-scale cost models while working at Hewitt Associates and Mutual of Omaha. With high-speed communications built from the defense industry, a low cost of living, and a stable economy, Omaha is an ideal location for FSA Assist. Other FSA Assist staff are located in Omaha and Chicago.
