"Identifying and Overcoming Obstacles to Aircraft Hangar Development" By: John M. Schussler, AAE, CCIM Airport officials vary in their attitudes and policies toward aircraft hangar development. Those policies determine whether there will be any development, where it will be done, what form it will take and who will do it. As a result, there are many different airport development situations across the country. Gaining airport management's support is vital before trying to develop hangars on their airport.

Be Prepared The 2000 construction season here in Ohio and other northern locations is all but over. This brief respite presents an excellent opportunity to effectively plan projects for 2001 and beyond. Project owners and developers who prepare now will realize significant benefits over their counterparts that wait until next spring. Contractors are anxious to build backlogs and aggressively bid for work they can begin early in the year before the inevitable crunch hits in the late summer and fall months.

Meet the Staff Natalie Hajba joined our staff in 1997 as our Office Manager and is likely to be the first person you speak with when you call Fulfab. In addition to fielding all incoming calls, she processes all of our correspondence and handles the bookkeeping chores. Natalie has an Associates Degree in Accounting/Administration and has some twenty years experience in accounting for manufacturers. She was born in Canton, Ohio, and lives in a nearby rural community with her husband David.

40 and Counting... This fall marks a milestone for Fulfab. Forty years ago we produced our first T-Hangar, a single unit sliding door model for Kirk Field in Paragould, Arkansas. Forty years later, we have furnished over 6,500 T-Hangar units to airports in 42 states and Canada. We are proud to have been producing T-Hangars for the general aviation community longer than any manufacturer in the country. Just as single-engine pistons have evolved from Cubs to Malibus, hangar construction has experienced significant innovations as well.

Just as the football season is winding down, so is our 4th quarter with the goal line in sight. This year we will set records for T-Hangar units shipped in the 4th quarter and for the year. With 200 units scheduled for shipment this quarter alone, we will realize a 40% increase in volume for 1998 over any year in our 40 plus years in this business. Obviously, this level of growth challenges us to manage and produce your project efficiently. We are grateful to you our customers for your business and patience in dealing with extended lead times throughout this fall.
