Fundamental Learning Center, Inc.

Description

“ Over course of my work with the Children of the Code Project I have had the privilege of working with hundreds of leading educators. Among that group, Jeanine Phillips stand alone. Knowing first hand what it’s like to be dyslexic she is passionately committed to helping children with dyslexia and all those who struggle with learning to read. Blending state of the art science and practice with her personally intimate experience of reading difficulty, she and her staff change the learning trajectories of children’s lives. But she doesn’t stop there. Realizing that she can only help a limited number of children in her own center she has extended her efforts by translating all she has learned into powerful and effective professional development trainings for teachers. Moreover, realizing that the real bottleneck to improved outcomes for struggling readers is also political, she has worked tirelessly to get the governor and legislature of Kansas to understand the impact of dyslexia on the lives of Kansas children and, by extension, to the state.
