Future Planning Services, LLC began in April 2003, after founder, Karen L. Golden had spent 13 years helping people pre-plan and pre-fund their funerals. Traditionally, Karen always served families through local independent funeral homes. It has been her experience, there are two primary barriers, which prevent people from completing the task of pre-planning. The first barrier is the basic idea of coming to terms with mortality. Many people will say, "I'm not planning to die right now!" What they mean is they are not ready to think about the idea of their own death, much less plan for it. Statistics will tell you 10 out of 10 people die, and few would disagree with this. This is not an event that may occur; it will occur. Furthermore, we can not predict when, but we can plan. We are here to help you through this initial reluctance, and make this a positive thoughtful experience. The second barrier is the fear of making the wrong financial decisions. Paying for a funeral can be a substantial cost. Regardless of your choices, chances are someone will have to bear those costs. We are here to help you make a plan to determine what those costs will be, and to plan for how to ensure the funds are there at the time of need.
