Initially borne as a bridge lender for senior care facilities, the Company was formed by Daniel M. Gottlieb and Steven D. Lebowitz in 1995. Both Messrs. Gottlieb and Lebowitz have more than 35 years of experience in the healthcare real estate industry and a combined 30-plus years of experience with ownership, operation and financing of senior care facilities. Messrs. Gottlieb and Lebowitz remain very active in the business, but day to day operations of the Company are overseen by Andrew S.
In 1995, G&L capitalized on its expertise in the healthcare field and entered the Senior Care industry. G&L Senior Care Properties currently owns portfolios in Maryland and Arizona. The Company sold multi property portfolios in California and Massachusetts in 2005-2007 and most recently in Arizona in 2012. Along with our operating partners, G&L Senior Care searches for distressed or under-achieving SNFs or ALFs and returns them to profitability without sacrificing quality of care at the facilities.
G&L Senior Care Properties, LLC ("The Company") specializes in the ownership of skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. The Company, through its subsidiaries, currently owns portfolios located in Arizona and Maryland. The Company looks to form joint venture partnerships with top local operators to acquire distressed senior care facilities and return them to profitability, without sacrificing quality of care. This is primarily accomplished by inserting new local management and targeted capital expenditures.
