Description
CAREERS Geolog offers career opportunities for qualified hard working and conscientious people. We have a small technical/shop staff, but most of our employees are logging geologists working in the field. MUDLOGGING GEOLOGIST Requirements: The Mudlogging position requires a degree in geology (or related field) and/or experience. Basic computer and mechanical skills are essential to operate and maintain equipment in the field. Mudloggers also must have the ability to work well with a wide range of personalities, from engineers to rig workers. Since our job sites are located throughout California, mudloggers must be willing to travel to their assigned location. Duties: Mudloggers work out of a mobile laboratory/office trailer placed on the drilling site. They are responsible for collecting and describing samples, collecting and processing data from sensors on the rig, operating and maintaining equipment —primarily gas detection and chromatograph equipment, drafting a mudlog, preparing and distributing timely reports and information to clients or other contractors on location. In addition, mudloggers routinely consult with geologists, engineers, and drilling crews to assure a safe and expedient operation. Benefits: Geolog provides a competitive wage, mileage/travel reimbursement, health insurance, dental insurance, and a 401K retirement plan to all eligible full-time employees. Location: We operate in various locations throughout California. The majority of our work is in the Bakersfield area or approximately one hour outside of Sacramento.
