Description
When you have figured out where you want to fish I recommend writing that state's fish and game department for a list of licensed guides for that area. You can find out about guides in fishing magazines and from companies or organizations that certify guides. You also can fnd out about guides ffom that area's local fly shops. Word of mouth is also an excellent way to find a guide. Somebody you know who has already had a good experience in that area with a guide will give you an edge in looking for a good one. Book early!
John Norman, a Texas resident who owns and operates his own lodge in Alaska, is offering a great deal which will benefit not just GRTU members, but also the Chapter as a whole. If you're thinking of planning a trip this summer, consider his offer: I am offering these special prices to GRTU members for the 2003 summer season to fill absolutely fantastic openings which I have due to cancellations and to fill weeks where I already have bookings. Every week listed will be filled with great service, friendly staff, and fantastic fishing.
Guadalupe River Chapter of Trout Unlimited could not exist without volunteers. Our mission is to have an organization that makes a difference for its members and the trout fishery that we all love. We have a wide range of services that require voluntary help: membership, meetings, community events, newsletter, conservation, computer, fisheries, etc. etc. The web based survey from earlier this year identified a large number of people willing to make a contribution of their time, but we’ve not been effective in utilizing this potential.
